30 Days Toward Greater Faith - Acts 1 - Wait?

Acts 1:4 Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you heard me speak about.

Are you good at waiting in line at the store, at the doctor’s office, for a table at a restaurant, or for a prayer request to come to pass? Though lines seem longer and time seems shorter there is one thing we do not have to wait for, because someone else waited for us. After the resurrection Jesus told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the gift God the Father had promised them, the Holy Spirit. Thankfully, they waited and received what was pledged. I love that because they waited I don’t have to. That may seem odd to some, but it’s the truth. Because the disciples obediently waited you don’t have to wait to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, you can ask and receive right now.

Are you still waiting for the Holy Spirit? Perhaps today is the day to ask, believe, commit and receive this gift offered to humanity. Who is waiting for whom? Is the Holy Spirit waiting for you?
